The Elks Hair Caddis Fly is great stimulator fly for Trout, and is the standard Caddis Fly of the West Coast. I have had many a Trout jump on an Elks hair Caddis when I could not even get them to look at another fly. This fly will float very well on rough water streams, and is deadly with a bright Orange or Red Thread intertwined in the body. I like the 16 & 18 sizes the best.
