This is a photo of nice sized Wild Rainbow trout that I pulled out of Bear Creek just off of the West Fork of the San Gabriel River. Bear Creek can be reached by hiking a mile into West Fork and taking the path under the bridge up into Bear Creek. This is a great place to fish during the spring. These fish also get alot less fishing pressure than the ones right by the West Fork Trail. So the nest time that you decide to head out to West Fork, take alittle detour up into Bear Creek. Just don’t forget to pack out what you bring in, pick up any trash if you see it, and practice Catch and Release only!!!

That is a amazing look trout, wonderful color and not bad size as well.
Thanks. The San Gabriel Mountains have some really beautiful wild trout!
