Today my friend Dan and I went to the Bob Marriot’s Fly Fair, and decided after to go practice the techniques that we were trying to learn. I had heard that Huntington Central Park Lake located off of Goldenwest and Talbert in Huntington Beach was a wide open lake and was a good place to practice casting. This lake was great for casting, but not if you want to catch fish. The water level is down super low, and the lake is super shallow right now. The DFG has not been stocking this lake recently with anything, and it looked barren. Seems like it would be a great place to fish if the water level was back up. Oh yeah and there are alot of ducks. So if you are in the Huntington Beach area, I would check out the lake by my house Mile Square Park Lake in Fountain Valley off of Euclid and Warner. Hope This Helps.
