These cats are so fun to catch in The SGR. the golf course right next to the whittier damn is filled with these kittys. nice little creek to drag them in or wait for the water level to drop and you could grab them by hand. when the creek dries up i round up all the kids so we could save them and relocate them to legg lake

I live along the SG River in the pico Rivera area. was woundering if there are general areas were I could walk to to fish? I know off the 60 fwy by peck road you could get a bite. And at the mouth of the river, even 4 or so miles up ive cought a couple. Along that golf course next to the whittier damn ive seen huge channel catfish that ive caught by hand in the streams and pools. I would love to know were else there could be some fishing holes (general area). since you keep you fishing spots a secret lol.

I want to start fly fishing for carp exclusively and have no idea where to begin. From the looks of it, an 8wt seems to be the go to rod for you. Any tips on gear to get started? There were a couple Albright fly rods that I was looking at that looked good and could double as a saltwater fly rod as well. I am not looking to spend a whole lot.. maybe about 300 dollars total for a good dependable set up that I can chase carp with in the urban setting. This would be my first fly rod as well so there is that.. Thanks
